The short answer
Arsenal's 2-1 win over Chelsea produced one of the most important FPL results of GW3.
Morgan Rogers scored again and has now produced an attacking return in each of Chelsea's opening three Premier League matches. Kai Havertz and Martin Ødegaard continued Arsenal's perfect start, while Cole Palmer and João Pedro blanked immediately before the widely targeted Hull fixture.
The biggest lesson for GW4 is that Rogers can no longer be treated as only a speculative new-signing watch.
Arsenal 2-1 Chelsea: the FPL story
Chelsea took the lead inside two minutes through Morgan Rogers.
Arsenal responded through Kai Havertz before the interval, then Martin Ødegaard scored the winner early in the second half.
Chelsea continued to threaten, with Pedro Neto hitting the post and Estêvão forcing a late save, but Arsenal held on for their third straight Premier League win.
Morgan Rogers — the case is getting stronger
Rogers' early goal is not an isolated return.
He has now scored or assisted in each of Chelsea's first three league matches.
That matters because the original FPL question around Rogers was about role security and whether he would be sufficiently central to Chelsea's attack.
Three consecutive returns do not guarantee future points, but they provide much stronger competitive evidence than the first article had.
Chelsea host Hull in GW4.
Hull have kept three consecutive clean sheets, so the fixture should not be reduced to 'promoted team = easy haul'. Even so, Rogers is now a legitimate transfer target because of role + form + the wider Chelsea fixture run.

Cole Palmer — blank, but still a major GW4 captain
Palmer did not return at Arsenal.
That should not cause panic.
Arsenal away was always one of Chelsea's most difficult early fixtures, and Palmer now moves into a home match against Hull.
His role still makes him one of the leading GW4 captain candidates.
The correct update is therefore:
blank at Arsenal = no major downgrade.
Compare him with Isak and Haaland in the GW4 Captain Picks.
João Pedro — hold rather than react
João Pedro also blanked.
Like Palmer, one difficult away match does not undo the broader Chelsea case.
Owners can hold for Hull, while non-owners should compare him against Alexander Isak and their existing forward structure rather than buying purely from ownership fear.
Kai Havertz — another goal strengthens the case
Havertz scored Arsenal's equaliser.
His ability to occupy central scoring positions keeps him relevant for FPL, especially when Arsenal are producing consistent attacking pressure.
He should now be judged against the other premium and mid-priced forward routes using current minutes, role and fixtures rather than preseason assumptions.
Martin Ødegaard — early scoring form deserves attention
Ødegaard scored Arsenal's winner.
His early-season goal output has been much stronger than last season's scoring rate.
That does not automatically make him the best Arsenal midfielder, but it does mean his current attacking role deserves a fresh look.
Managers considering an Arsenal midfielder should compare:
- Ødegaard's central involvement,
- Saka's premium routes to points,
- Tzolis' wide attacking role,
- price and minutes.
Tzolis — involvement remains useful even without a return
Tzolis started on the left as Arsenal maintained their perfect league record.
He did not produce the headline points, but secure attacking starts in the league's strongest teams can matter more than one blank.
Avoid selling a good role purely because another teammate scored.
Arsenal defence — still a hold
Arsenal lost the clean sheet after only 77 seconds.
That is frustrating for FPL owners, but it does not change the underlying strength of the defence.
Arsenal remain one of the strongest teams to back defensively over multiple Gameweeks.
What this means for Chelsea v Hull
Chelsea's GW4 hierarchy is now more interesting:
Palmer — premium captaincy route. Rogers — increasingly strong midfield transfer. João Pedro — strong forward hold/buy depending on structure.
You do not need all three.
Hull's clean-sheet run is a reason to avoid blindly forcing a Chelsea triple-up, not a reason to avoid Chelsea completely.
