Harry Kane is the 2026 Ballon d’Or winner. The former Tottenham Hotspur striker lifted the men's prize in London on 26 October 2026 after an extraordinary campaign for Bayern Munich and England. For Fantasy Premier League managers, it is a moment to revisit a striker who delivered 1,891 career FPL points before leaving English football in 2023.
Why did Harry Kane win the 2026 Ballon d’Or?
Kane scored 73 goals for club and country during the award period, including 61 goals in 51 competitive appearances for Bayern Munich in 2025/26. Bayern won the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal, while Kane scored six times as England reached the 2026 World Cup semi-finals and ultimately finished third. He beat competition from Kylian Mbappé and Lamine Yamal to win his first men's Ballon d’Or, becoming the first English winner since Michael Owen in 2001.
Those are real-world football statistics, not FPL points. Kane's last Premier League and Fantasy Premier League season was 2022/23, before he joined Bayern in August 2023. Sources: Reuters and Bundesliga.
Harry Kane's FPL points at Tottenham: standout seasons
Kane was one of the most dependable premium forwards of his generation. Here are five notable full-season totals from his Tottenham years:
| FPL season | Points | Premier League goals | Fantasy takeaway |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2016/17 | 224 | 29 | Elite output despite playing only 30 league matches. |
| 2017/18 | 217 | 30 | Top-scoring FPL forward with explosive captaincy potential. |
| 2020/21 | 242 | 23 | Combined goals and creativity, including 14 assists. |
| 2021/22 | 192 | 17 | Still finished as FPL's highest-scoring forward. |
| 2022/23 | 263 | 30 | His personal-best FPL season and a model of consistency. |
These are season totals, not combined points. The official Premier League has documented the 224-point 2016/17 return, 217 points in 2017/18, 242 points in 2020/21, and 192 points in 2021/22. His 263 points in 2022/23 set a new personal best.
Latest FPL news
His final Spurs season was his best for fantasy
In 2022/23, Kane scored 30 Premier League goals and recorded 263 FPL points, finishing only nine points behind Erling Haaland's 272 despite the Manchester City forward's record-breaking debut. Kane delivered an attacking return in 30 of his 38 league appearances, and he avoided back-to-back blanks. That consistency made him a useful alternative captain rather than merely a player to own for spectacular individual hauls.
Kane's 2022/23 total included nine FPL assists. Fantasy assists can differ from the official Premier League assist statistic because FPL has its own assist-awarding rules; do not mix the two figures when comparing seasons. See Fantasy Football Scout's 2022/23 season review and archived fantasy player statistics.
What made Kane an FPL legend?
The Premier League's official farewell to Kane as an FPL asset credits him with 1,891 Fantasy points across 11 seasons, 61 FPL assists, 293 bonus points and 67 double-figure hauls. He appeared in the Fantasy Dream Team of the Season seven times. His appeal was built on more than finishing: secure minutes, penalties, chance creation and bonus-point potential made him a premium pick managers could build around.
His rise also tells a familiar FPL story. A once-inexpensive prospect became an elite, high-priced captaincy option. By Double Gameweek 37 in 2017/18, his price had reached £13.1m. At Spurs, the difficulty for managers was usually not whether Kane was good enough, but how to fit him into a squad alongside other premium players.
Can you buy Harry Kane in FPL 2026/27?
No. Kane plays for Bayern Munich, not a Premier League club, so he is not selectable in the official 2026/27 Fantasy Premier League game. His Bayern goals and Ballon d'Or win do not add to a current FPL team score. This article looks back at his Premier League fantasy record; it is not a recommendation to transfer him in for Gameweek 9.

A Ballon d’Or winner FPL managers knew first
Kane's 2026 award celebrates his excellence in Germany and for England, but long-time Fantasy managers had already spent years measuring that quality in goals, bonus points and captaincy returns. His 263-point 2022/23 finale was the peak of a remarkable Tottenham FPL career — and the Ballon d'Or adds another chapter to the story.
