1. Pickford
Pickford remains the cleanest Everton FPL route.
Against Tottenham, he added another clean sheet.
His appeal comes from two independent paths:
- clean sheets,
- save points.
That makes him useful in matches where Everton defend deep as well as matches they are expected to control.

2. Dewsbury-Hall
KDH remains the safer attacking route because his minutes and involvement are easier to project than the more speculative attackers.
The question is price efficiency.
If another midfielder around the same price has penalties or more direct goal threat, KDH needs enough creativity and minutes to keep pace.
3. Barry
Barry offers a budget forward structure.
That can be valuable for Haaland teams because the third forward does not need to be a premium.
The important evidence is expected starts and central role rather than one recent return.
Everton defenders
The Spurs clean sheet improves the defence as a whole.
Ipswich at home in GW5 is a playable fixture.
However, Ipswich scored three at Crystal Palace, so managers should not treat the clean sheet as automatic.
Choose defenders with:
- secure starts,
- set-piece threat,
- defensive contributions.
Grealish
Grealish remains more of a differential than a core pick.
If his minutes remain strong and he plays advanced enough, he can become interesting.
If starts fluctuate, there are safer midfielders at similar prices.
GW5 vs Ipswich
This is a stronger fixture for Everton defence than attack.
Pickford and secure defenders are the most straightforward plays.
Attacking transfers should still be based on role rather than simply targeting a promoted opponent.
Everton double-up?
A goalkeeper + defender double-up can work in a strong clean-sheet run, but it increases the risk of one conceded goal damaging two players.
For most managers, one defensive route is enough.

Pickford remains Everton's No.1 FPL asset. KDH is the safest attacker. Secure defenders are playable for GW5, but Ipswich's attacking improvement means no clean sheet is guaranteed.

Pickford vs a cheaper goalkeeper
Pickford is most attractive when managers want a reliable save profile and do not need every £0.5m elsewhere.
If moving to Kinský or Verbruggen creates a clear starting-XI upgrade, the cheaper goalkeeper can still be the better squad decision.
That is why Pickford should be viewed as Everton's safest asset, not automatically the best goalkeeper purchase for every team.
Who to avoid chasing
Do not buy an Everton attacker simply because Ipswich are next. The attacking role still needs to be strong enough to justify the slot after GW5 as well.
