Best early FPL transfers for Gameweek 10
As of 1 November 2026: Saturday's GW9 matches are complete, but Liverpool v Arsenal and Newcastle v Everton have not been played. This is an early GW10 transfer watchlist, not a final deadline ranking. The deadline is expected on Friday 6 November at 18:30 GMT.
Five candidates worth comparing
| Player | Club / position | GW10 fixture | Why watch | Risk to check |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Evanilson | Bournemouth, FWD | Ipswich (A) | GW9 goal; £6.4m on official 1 Nov list | Can he sustain his shot volume? |
| Nicolas Jackson | Aston Villa, FWD | Man Utd (A) | GW9 goal; £7.0m | Role and away matchup; not as cheap as Evanilson |
| Jan Paul van Hecke | Tottenham, DEF | Leeds (A) | 15 provisional GW9 points; £5.0m | Goal should not be projected weekly |
| Maxim De Cuyper | Brighton, DEF | Brentford (H) | 9 provisional GW9 points; advanced role; £5.4m | Rotation and returning teammates |
| Morgan Rogers | Chelsea, MID | Sunderland (A) | Scored vs United; already heavily owned | Price, ownership and continued attacking role |

Our decision order
Best budget-forward starting point: Evanilson
Bournemouth beat Leeds 2–0 and Evanilson scored. Their next league match is at Ipswich, giving him a strong immediate fixture plus money-saving case. Compare his next four matches, expected minutes and shot locations before treating him as a long-term answer.
Better if you value structure: Nicolas Jackson
Jackson scored as Aston Villa drew 1–1 with Fulham. At £7.0m, he is dearer than Evanilson, and Villa's next match is Manchester United away. The argument for Jackson therefore has to be about his role and multiple weeks, not pretending GW10 is an obviously easier fixture.
Defensive differential: Van Hecke
A goal and clean sheet against Crystal Palace produced a huge haul. His Spurs side visit Leeds, then host Ipswich. That's promising but is not a license to project another 15 points. Examine clean-sheet probability, set-piece threat and defensive contributions over the longer sample.
Brighton: De Cuyper is the upside route
De Cuyper appears as a defender in FPL while operating in more advanced areas. Brighton's 1–0 win at City and home game against Brentford are appealing. However, Brighton's European commitments and the possible return of wide players could affect minutes and positioning.
Rogers: good hold, not automatically a buy at any price
Rogers scored against Manchester United and has a favourable Chelsea run, but a large number of FPL managers already own him. Price and team structure decide whether moving another midfielder out for him makes sense.
The GW10 transfer market is moving
The official Premier League update at 00:15 GMT on 1 November showed Evanilson, Jackson, Tavernier, Isak and Rogers among the most-bought players for GW10. Buying momentum can predict price pressure, not future points. João Pedro, Cherki and Calafiori were among the most-sold names; only sell where fresh information supports it.
When would a -4 hit be worthwhile?
Use a simple comparison: expected points from the replacement over the next three or four gameweeks minus expected points from the player you sell minus four points. Add any later transfer required to unwind the move. If that number is not plausibly positive, wait for a free transfer.
Do not finalize a transfer involving Liverpool or Newcastle players before they have played GW9 unless you are comfortable carrying the remaining injury and selection risk. European fixtures and team news later in the week can change the ranking.
