Verdict: Best £5.5m option for reliable minutes.
Best £6.0m midfielder
James Garner
Garner scored 159 points last season and is owned by only 3.2 percent of managers.
He is projected to remain involved in Everton's direct free kicks and corners, while his defensive contributions provide an additional route to points.
Everton also have one of the best opening schedules.
Verdict: Best £6.0m combination of set pieces, defensive points and fixtures.
Best £6.5m midfielder
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall
Dewsbury-Hall scored eight goals, supplied seven assists and collected 151 points last season.
He added 10 defensive-contribution points and 18 bonus points, averaging 5.0 points per start.
At £6.5m, he offers a more attacking alternative to Garner without requiring a major increase in budget.
Verdict: Best all-round midfielder below £7.0m.
Elliot Anderson
Anderson scored 180 points last season and now costs £6.5m after joining Manchester City.
His defensive-contribution ability is excellent, but his minutes and tactical role are less secure than Dewsbury-Hall's.
Verdict: Higher ceiling, higher rotation risk.
Best £7.0m midfielder
Dominik Szoboszlai
Szoboszlai scored 160 points last season and currently has 41.5 percent ownership.
Liverpool's first four fixtures avoid all of last season's top 10, while his position and possible penalty role could increase his value.
The final friendlies should reveal whether he operates as an advanced midfielder or from a deeper position.
Verdict: Best £7.0m option when his role is confirmed.
Phil Foden
Foden's reduced price creates significant upside if he secures an attacking position for Manchester City.
The risk remains rotation and uncertainty under a new tactical setup. He should be considered only after strong pre-season evidence.
Verdict: High-risk alternative with premium-level potential.
Best £7.5m midfielders
Declan Rice
Rice scored 184 points last season and is selected by 22.4 percent of managers.
He offers secure minutes, corners, direct free kicks and defensive contributions. Arsenal's excellent opening schedule strengthens his appeal.
Verdict: Safest £7.5m midfielder.
Morgan Rogers
Rogers produced 169 points last season and is already owned by 34.6 percent of managers.
His new Chelsea role may provide more attacking upside than Rice, but managers must confirm where he starts and how he affects Palmer and Joao Pedro.
Verdict: Higher attacking upside, less role certainty.
Junior Kroupi
Kroupi has changed from forward to midfielder after scoring 13 goals last season.
His 134 minutes per goal was significantly better than the regular starting midfielders, but Bournemouth have the most difficult opening schedule and visit Manchester City in Gameweek 1.

Morgan Gibbs-White
Gibbs-White scored 15 goals, supplied four assists and produced a career-high 188 points.
Nottingham Forest host Leeds, Tottenham and Coventry across their first five Gameweeks.
He also remains involved in penalties and direct free kicks.
Verdict: Best mid-priced midfielder for the opening schedule.
Best £8.5m midfielder
Antoine Semenyo
Semenyo scored 202 points last season and is owned by 20.2 percent of managers after joining Manchester City.
His previous output is elite for the price, but his new position, starting security and share of minutes must be confirmed.
Verdict: Excellent ceiling, but do not assume he is automatically first choice.
Best £9.5m midfielders
Bukayo Saka
Saka offers penalties, set pieces and an excellent opening home fixture against Coventry.
His 157-point season was below his usual level, but Arsenal's schedule and his established attacking role provide a strong route back to premium returns.
Verdict: Safer premium option.
Cole Palmer
Palmer scored only 114 points last season but had produced consecutive 200-point campaigns before that.
He had no international football during the summer, while Chelsea have no European competition this season.
Verdict: Better value gamble with a full pre-season.
Best premium midfielder
Bruno Fernandes: £12.0m
Bruno scored 235 points through nine goals and 24 assists.
He averaged 7.6 points per match after Michael Carrick took charge and opens against Hull and Ipswich.
