Brighton's summer rebuild has another confirmed addition.
Jaouen Hadjam has joined from Young Boys on a contract until 2031.
The original transfer guide described a six-man rebuild. That number is now outdated.

Hadjam is the most immediately relevant new update
Hadjam is a natural left-back and therefore matters because Maxim De Cuyper is already an FPL transfer target after his huge Gameweek 1 return.
The signing can produce several outcomes:
- Hadjam becomes the reserve left-back.
- De Cuyper remains first-choice.
- De Cuyper plays higher with Hadjam behind him.
- European/cup rotation splits their starts.
- The pair compete directly for one league position.
No one should pretend the answer is known before Hürzeler shows us the hierarchy.
Do not downgrade the entire Brighton defence
Brighton beat Aston Villa 4-0 in GW1.
Hadjam's arrival increases competition, but it also improves squad depth. The FPL question is individual minutes, not whether Brighton suddenly became a worse team.
