A predicted XI should answer three questions:
Is the player likely to start?
What real-life role will he have?
Is the role secure for more than one Gameweek?
Do not select a cheap player only because he appears in one projected team. A useful opening pick should normally have a route to 70 or more minutes and remain competitive after injured players return.
High-risk teams
Manchester City
Haaland is the safest selection. The defensive line, central midfield and wide positions are all vulnerable to tactical change under Maresca.
Chelsea
Palmer and João Pedro have the clearest routes. Estêvão, Neto, Gittens, Rogers, Quenda, Welbeck and other attackers create significant competition.
Ipswich
Maeda, Fatawu, Scherpen, Emersonn and other arrivals create upside but reduce certainty. Avoid building an FPL bench around several Ipswich players until the hierarchy is clear.
Newcastle
