The biggest GW4 lessons
Gameweek 4 is complete. These are the lessons that should change FPL decisions.
1. Haaland is the early GW5 captain
He scored the Manchester derby winner and now hosts Sunderland.
2. Foden is an availability problem
The straight red for violent conduct creates a domestic suspension.
3. Gvardiol is producing at both ends
Derby assist plus clean sheet makes him one of the strongest City defensive routes.
4. Chelsea's three main attackers can return together
Rogers scored, João Pedro produced a goal and assist, Palmer assisted.
5. Chelsea defence remains difficult to trust
Hull scored twice at Stamford Bridge.
6. Gakpo now has rotation risk, not only injury risk
Barcola started against Fulham while Gakpo came from the bench.
7. Liverpool attackers can still blank in great fixtures
Fulham held Liverpool 0-0 at Anfield.
8. Arsenal defence remains elite
Raya saved a penalty and kept another clean sheet.
9. Saka's penalty role became more valuable
He won and scored Arsenal's latest league penalty.
10. Brighton's attack is spreading returns
Brighton scored five at Coventry, with Groß converting the penalty and Yalcouyé scoring.
11. Coventry are now a team to target
Four league defeats and zero goals is meaningful evidence.
12. Spurs attack is an avoid
Tottenham have started the league with four scoreless matches.
13. Schade is a genuine differential
His Bournemouth brace took him to three league goals.
14. Leeds are a real FPL team
Bogle, Calvert-Lewin and Okafor all returned in the 4-1 win over Newcastle.
15. Newcastle fixtures are not enough by themselves
Hull at home remains attractive, but injuries, roles and the Leeds performance all need checking before buying.

The 15 lessons do not mean 15 transfers. The strongest actionable changes are:

Biggest trap after GW4
Chasing every scorer.
Schade, Bogle and DCL have roles that support their returns. Dunk's long-range goal or a substitute winner does not automatically create the same transfer case.
