Updated 26 September 2026: this guide now reflects the first major international-match evidence, including Brobbey, Havertz and Semenyo injury developments.
The early GW6 transfer list looked straightforward after Gameweek 5.
It is not straightforward anymore.
The international break has already changed several calls, which is exactly why OneFPL has been recommending patience.
Updated GW6 transfer board
| Player | Previous view | Updated view | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pascal Groß | BUYABLE | BUYABLE | Strong form + clean break profile |
| Kevin Schade | BUY/WATCH | BUY/WATCH | International minutes now known; monitor next update |
| Charalampos Kostoulas | BUY/WATCH | BUY/WATCH | Value strong if starts remain secure |
| Maxim De Cuyper | WATCH/COMPARE | BUYABLE / WATCH ROLE | £5.0m, huge demand, Mitoma/Europe question |
| Brian Brobbey | BUY/WATCH | WAIT / DO NOT BUY YET | Hamstring issue |
| Antoine Semenyo | WAIT/BUYABLE | WAIT | Ghana withdrawal, ankle/leg issue |
| Lewis Hall | Strong candidate | WATCH / BUYABLE | Good route, continue workload check |
Pascal Groß — still the cleanest major target
Groß remains one of the strongest early transfer cases because several factors align:
- strong current output;
- secure league minutes;
- set-piece involvement;
- major transfer demand;
- no equivalent international workload concern during this break.
That does not mean every squad should buy him.
But compared with players carrying injury uncertainty, his information risk is lower.
Use Player Lab to compare him against your current midfielder.
Verdict: BUYABLE.
Kevin Schade — international minutes are now evidence, not projection
Schade played roughly 64 minutes for Germany against the Netherlands.
That is useful because managers can now judge his actual workload rather than simply worrying that he was called up.
Still monitor:
- his next Germany involvement;
- return to Brentford;
- any physical issue;
- the difficult immediate Aston Villa fixture.
Verdict: BUY/WATCH.
Kostoulas — value depends on starts
Kostoulas remains appealing because the forward price point can transform squad structure.
But his value is highly sensitive to minutes.
Before buying, verify:
- starts;
- expected minutes;
- competition;
- whether the saving upgrades another important slot.
Use the Transfer Planner.
Verdict: BUY/WATCH.
De Cuyper — stronger asset, more complicated decision
De Cuyper is now around £5.0m with roughly 27.6% ownership and enormous transfer demand.
The new concern is role.
Brighton expect Mitoma back after the break, while Conference League football adds rotation pressure.
That means fresh buyers must decide whether they are purchasing:
- a secure attacking defender;
- or a defender whose unusually advanced role may reduce.
Read the dedicated Maxim De Cuyper FPL guide.
Verdict: BUYABLE / WATCH ROLE.
Brobbey — downgrade immediately
Brobbey's hat-trick remains impressive.
But the international hamstring issue overrides the original transfer enthusiasm.
There is no reason for a fresh buyer to move before Sunderland's assessment.
Verdict: WAIT / DO NOT BUY YET.
Read Brian Brobbey FPL.
Semenyo — injury question comes before the haul
Semenyo's 17-point GW5 return remains strong evidence of ceiling.
His Ghana withdrawal now creates a fitness question.
Add Liverpool away in GW6 and there is very little reason for a fresh buyer to rush.
Verdict: WAIT.
Read Antoine Semenyo FPL.
Lewis Hall — still a strong defender route
Hall remains attractive because of:
- attacking upside;
- a useful Newcastle fixture run;
- a later GW6 scheduling/recovery profile than some alternatives.
But international minutes and final team news still matter.
Verdict: WATCH / BUYABLE.
Injury-first rule for the rest of the break
From now until the final international matches, every target should pass this order:
- Availability
- Expected minutes
- Role
- Fixture
- Price
- Transfer trend
Do not reverse that order because a player is rising in price.
Owners vs buyers
A player can be:
- a HOLD for owners;
- a WAIT for buyers.
That is not inconsistent.
Owners already have the player and may have bench cover.
Fresh buyers are choosing to take on new risk.
This distinction is especially important for Semenyo, Brobbey and De Cuyper.
Wildcard managers
Wildcard managers should use the break to build structure, not lock every close call.
Keep:
- flexible defender price points;
- a budget-forward alternative;
- midfield pivots;
- a playable bench.
Read the GW6 Wildcard Team.

- return-to-club training;
- final price changes;
- GW6 press conferences.

Do not rush those final-deadline articles now.
OneFPL verdict
The international break has already validated the value of waiting.
Groß still has one of the cleanest profiles.
Schade and Kostoulas remain interesting.
De Cuyper is popular but now needs role analysis.
Brobbey and Semenyo should be treated as injury-information problems first.
For most healthy squads, the strongest move remains:
plan now, transfer when the information justifies it.
FAQ
Who are the best early FPL GW6 transfer targets?
Groß remains one of the cleanest early cases. Schade, Kostoulas, De Cuyper and other targets should be judged with new international minutes, role and injury information.
Should I buy Brian Brobbey for GW6?
Not while his hamstring problem is unresolved. Fresh buyers should wait for Sunderland's assessment.
Should I buy Antoine Semenyo for GW6?
Wait for Manchester City fitness evidence because he withdrew from Ghana duty with an ankle or leg issue.
Is De Cuyper still a buy?
He remains buyable, but Mitoma's expected return and Brighton's European schedule create new role and minutes questions.
Should I make my GW6 transfer now?
For most healthy squads, waiting remains sensible because more international and club information will arrive before the deadline.
