Updated 12 October 2026. Fulham's fixture swing looked excellent. Then they lost 2-1 to Ipswich.
That creates a useful question: were the picks wrong, or was one result simply disappointing?
Original case
Fulham's run: Ipswich → Hull → Coventry
The logic was:
- promoted opponents;
- cheap assets;
- usable roles;
- easy squad structure.
One defeat does not erase all of that.
Josh King
King's case is still mostly price, fixtures and minutes.
If he remains a starter, Hull and Coventry are good enough to hold.
Gonzalo Garcia
Garcia remains a central forward.
The question is whether Fulham are creating enough around him.
He is not automatically a sell because Ipswich won.
When to sell
Sell when:
- minutes decline;
- role worsens;
- team process is weak;
- another player has clearly better fixtures + data.
Do not sell only because a good fixture produced a blank.
Wildcard view
On a new Wildcard, you do not need to force Fulham assets because you planned them last week.
Compare with Barry, Belloumi, Brighton and Chelsea value routes.
OneFPL verdict
Fulham are not a trap yet.
But they are now on probation.
King: hold if starting.
Garcia: hold one more if structure works.
Fresh buyers: be more selective than before GW6.
Hull is the next test.

What would make the hold fail?
The fixtures are good enough that managers can be patient, but patience should have conditions.
King
Downgrade if:
- he loses starts;
- moves deeper;
- stops receiving box touches.
Garcia
Downgrade if:
- shots disappear;
- another forward shares minutes;
- Fulham continue creating very few high-quality chances.
Transfer cost matters
If you already own King or Garcia, selling costs a transfer.
That means the incoming player needs to be clearly better, not merely more exciting after one haul.
On Wildcard, the standard is different because you can remove them without using a future transfer.
Hull as the key test
Hull should give Fulham another opportunity to justify the fixture-based investment.
If the attack again looks poor, the case for waiting through Coventry becomes much weaker.
That makes GW7 an important evidence Gameweek rather than a guaranteed bounce-back.
