The short answer
Brentford have officially signed El Hadji Malick Diouf from West Ham.
Reuters reports the 21-year-old Senegal left-back has signed a five-year contract, with an option for a sixth year, in a deal reported at £40m including add-ons.
For FPL, this is mainly a minutes and role story.
Why Diouf matters
Brentford have added a young defender with:
- Premier League experience
- athletic upside
- left-footed delivery
- real competition value
FPL questions to solve
1. What is his official FPL price?
If Diouf is classified attractively, he could immediately become a watchlist name.
2. Is he first choice?
Budget defenders only become useful when their starts are reliable.
3. Does he offer attacking upside?
Full-backs can become strong FPL assets when they combine starts with crossing and overlap.

Diouf is more interesting as a role-and-price story than as an automatic transfer.
