FPL has added him as:
- Club: Manchester City
- Position: Midfielder
- Price: £5.5m
Why Bouaddi is interesting for FPL
Bouaddi is not expected to produce large goal or assist numbers.
Official FPL analysis instead highlights his potential route through Defensive Contributions.
He averaged 10.3 CBIRT per 90 minutes in Ligue 1 last season.
Midfielders need 12 combined clearances, blocks, interceptions, recoveries and tackles in a match to earn two DefCon points.
That puts Bouaddi close enough to the threshold to be interesting if he plays 80–90 minutes consistently.
What role will he play?
The official FPL Scout expects Bouaddi to compete for a central midfield role alongside Elliot Anderson in Enzo Maresca's 4-2-3-1.
However, Maresca himself has urged patience with the 18-year-old as he adapts to a new league and country.
Both pieces of information matter.
The most sensible expectation is:
- long-term first-team importance
- immediate availability
- some short-term minutes uncertainty
£5.5m is not automatically cheap
Defensive midfielders need a strong points floor to become good normal-FPL assets.
At £5.5m, Bouaddi competes with midfielders who can offer:
- goals
- assists
- set pieces
- more advanced roles
So he needs either:
very secure 90s + reliable DefCon
or more attacking output than his Ligue 1 record suggests.
Impact on Manchester City
Bouaddi's arrival also changes the team around him.
Official FPL analysis notes it could push Marc Guéhi back into the centre-back competition after he played in midfield in GW1.
That affects:

Maresca confirmed Bouaddi is available.
He also said:
- Elliot Anderson is fit
- Matheus Nunes is not 100%
- Jérémy Doku remains out
Bouaddi could therefore get an early opportunity, but “available” is not the same as “nailed.”

Bouaddi is a much more interesting FPL asset than the old placeholder article suggested, but £5.5m requires real starting security.
His best route is likely minutes + DefCon, not attacking returns.
