The short answer
It can be temporarily possible to own four Arsenal players, but only because of a transfer-registration quirk.
Important: Ezri Konsa's Arsenal transfer is not confirmed at the time of writing.
Fantasy Football Scout highlighted the scenario because Arsenal are reported to be close to signing the £4.5m Aston Villa defender.
How it works
FPL normally allows a maximum of three players from one club.
The temporary exception happens when:
- You already own three Arsenal players.
- You buy Konsa while FPL still lists him as Aston Villa.
- Arsenal complete the transfer.
- FPL changes Konsa's club to Arsenal.
- Your squad now contains four Arsenal players.
FPL does not immediately remove one, but the next transfer requires you to reduce the squad back to the normal club limit.
Example
You could theoretically hold:
- Gabriel
- Riccardo Calafiori
- Christos Tzolis
- Ezri Konsa, purchased while still AVL
Why this is risky
| Risk | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Transfer not confirmed | Konsa may not move |
| Match readiness | Late signing may not start |
| Transfer restriction | Your next move forces an Arsenal sale |
| Defensive hierarchy | Saliba/Timber injuries already complicate roles |
| Bench Boost | Reduced flexibility can hurt chip plans |
Is it worth doing?
Probably not for most managers.

OneFPL verdict
Interesting loophole, niche strategy. Do not build around it unless the transfer is completed and you fully understand the next-transfer restriction.
