Gameweek 1 deadline
The official 2026/27 FPL Gameweek 1 deadline is Friday 21 August at 18:30 BST.
Here is the final OneFPL checklist.
1. Check injuries and suspensions
A return to training does not automatically mean a player will start. Use OneFPL Team News and the Player Lab.
2. Confirm predicted lineups
Focus on new signings, World Cup returnees, goalkeeper battles, cheap defenders and new-manager teams.
Read the OneFPL predicted GW1 lineups.
3. Pick your captain
Prioritise minutes, role and fixture. Haaland hosts Bournemouth, Saka hosts Coventry and Bruno visits Hull.
4. Set a vice-captain
If the captain plays zero minutes, the vice-captain receives the multiplier. Choose a secure starter.
5. Order the bench
Put the outfield substitute most likely to return useful points first, while keeping auto-sub formation rules in mind.
6. Check all 15 players
A cheap bench is fine. A dead bench is risky. Aim for at least two substitutes with a realistic route to minutes.
7. Recheck the £100.0m budget
Prices are locked until the Gameweek 1 deadline, so there is no need to rush because of a predicted rise or fall.
8. Review chips
Only one chip can be used in a Gameweek. Wildcard and Free Hit cannot be played in Gameweek 1. Bench Boost and Triple Captain are available if deliberately selected.
9. Remove unnecessary planned transfers
If you already know you want to sell someone in GW2, ask why that player is in the opening squad. Test alternatives in the OneFPL Planner.
