João Pedro: the £7.5m case got stronger
João Pedro already entered the season as one of the most popular mid-priced forwards. GW1 supplied the evidence managers wanted: a start in the middle of Chelsea's attack, an early goal, an assist for Palmer and a full-match attacking presence.
That does not make him automatically essential after one match, but it removes one of the main preseason concerns — whether Chelsea's attacking depth would dilute his role.
Chelsea host Brighton in GW2. If you already own João Pedro, there is no reason to sell. If you need a forward in his price bracket, he belongs near the top of the shortlist.

Palmer's £9.5m price made him an intriguing premium alternative before the season. A goal and an assist at Fulham is a much stronger competitive signal than any preseason return.
Bruno Fernandes at home to Ipswich remains a compelling GW2 captain because of fixture, penalties and expected minutes. But Palmer at home to Brighton now has a real ceiling case of his own.

Morgan Rogers: goal on debut, but judge price against alternatives
Rogers scored on his Chelsea debut after Maxence Lacroix's cut-back. More importantly, he started in the same attacking unit as Palmer and João Pedro.
At £7.5m, he still needs to beat a crowded midfield price bracket. The goal moves him from speculative new signing to a serious watchlist option, but one performance is not enough to call him a must-buy.

Gonzalo García: Fulham now have real No.9 evidence
García scored on his league debut after Robert Sánchez parried Timothy Castagne's effort. For managers looking at cheaper forwards, the important point is that García was trusted in the central role and produced immediately against Chelsea.
His £6.0m price is attractive, but GW2 away to Sunderland is a very different decision from chasing a debut goal. Monitor starting security and Fulham's chance creation before moving.
Chelsea defence: attack first, defence second
Chelsea won, but they conceded twice and Fulham had a late chance to equalise. The return of injured Moises Caicedo and Marco Palestra could improve their defensive structure, but Alonso did not provide a firm return date after the match.
The early FPL priority is therefore clear:
