The short answer
A confirmed normal FPL transfer cannot be reversed.
However, chip cancellation rules are different.
What can and cannot be cancelled?
| Action | Can it be cancelled? |
|---|---|
| Confirmed normal transfer | ❌ No |
| Triple Captain | ✅ Before deadline |
| Bench Boost | ✅ Before deadline |
| Free Hit after confirmation | ❌ No |
| Wildcard while still Pending | ✅ In limited cases |
| Active Wildcard | ❌ No |
| Captain / vice-captain / bench changes | ✅ Before deadline |
The current Wildcard Pending rule
The official 2026/27 FAQ adds an important detail.
If the Wildcard still shows as Pending with zero or one confirmed transfer, it can still be cancelled.
Once a second transfer is confirmed, the Wildcard becomes Active and cannot be reversed.
Can Wildcard remove a transfer hit?
Yes.
Transfers already made in the same Gameweek become free when the Wildcard becomes active.
This can remove a -4, -8 or larger transfer deduction from that Gameweek.
Can a Free Hit be cancelled?
Not after the Free Hit transfers have been confirmed.
Can Triple Captain or Bench Boost be cancelled?
Yes, before the Gameweek deadline.
Avoid transfer mistakes
Before confirming:
- test the move in the OneFPL Transfer Planner;
- check Team News;
- confirm the points cost;
- check your remaining free transfers;
- then make the official transfer.
