The FPL Dream Team shows who scored the most points.
It does not automatically show who you should buy.
GW2 is a perfect example: several huge returns came from players with very different minutes, fixtures and underlying roles.
Big GW2 scores worth understanding

Bruno
Bruno's 23 was extraordinary, but his broader numbers are why it matters.
Official FPL says he has more points than any other player since GW21 last season.
Conclusion: the exact 23 points will not repeat often; the premium FPL role can.
Cherki
Cherki now has four attacking returns in two matches and Coventry at home next.
That supports a transfer.
But his minutes are less secure than Bruno or Haaland.
Conclusion: high-upside buy, with rotation priced into the decision.
Haaland
Haaland scoring twice is exactly the type of return managers pay £15.5m for.
Coventry at home makes him the best GW3 captain.
Conclusion: repeatable elite goal threat.
Mbeumo
Mbeumo is one of GW3's most-sold players despite a goal and assist.
Everton away is not a reason to panic.
Conclusion: strong hold.
Goalkeepers and defenders require more caution
A goalkeeper can score 10 points through saves and bonus without suddenly becoming the best long-term option.
For defenders, prioritise:
- clean-sheet probability
- minutes
- attacking role
- DefCon
- fixture run

The anti-points-chasing checklist
Before buying a GW2 hauler, ask:
- Did the player's role change?
- Are the minutes secure?
- Were there repeatable shots/chances/set pieces?
- Are the next fixtures strong?
- Would I want the player if the GW2 score were hidden?
If the final answer is no, you are probably buying last week's points.
