- Official price
- Starting security
- Fitness and pre-season minutes
- Set pieces and penalties
- Opening fixtures
- Competition from existing players

Position classifications that matter
Some new arrivals are more or less attractive because of their FPL position.
- Maeda is a midfielder even if Ipswich use him close to goal.
- Barco is a midfielder, so he does not receive defender clean-sheet points.
- Gonzalo García is a forward.
- António Silva is a defender.
- Tzolakis and Horníček are goalkeepers.
Classification can matter as much as price because goals and clean sheets score differently by position.
How quickly are new players added?
The official FPL FAQ says new players are normally added within seven days of a completed transfer.
There can still be a delay while registration, position and price are reviewed. Do not guess the price before it appears in the game.
