How to use this ranking
A ranking should not be read as a list of players you must own. The order is based on a combination of expected minutes, current FPL role, routes to points, price and upcoming fixtures. A cheaper player can be the better transfer if the saving improves another starter.
Before buying, separate three questions:

Current Gameweek context
The first four Gameweeks have given us far better information than preseason projections. We should now give more weight to actual starts, substitutions, competitive set-piece evidence and tactical position than summer expectations.
That means a player can move up even without a huge haul if the role has improved, while a popular player can move down if expected minutes or team performance have deteriorated.
Who should act now?
Buy now when the player has a secure role and the next fixtures support the move.
Hold when the role remains strong but the immediate fixture is difficult.
Wait when the upside is real but minutes are still being shared.
Sell only when availability, role or the wider team situation has materially worsened. One blank is rarely enough on its own.
